Race Time Predictor

This weekend I discovered something. I do not particularly like regular hummus. Blasphemy, huh?

I think it’s bland and needs a little “oomph” to taste good. What I do love, however, is flavored hummus!

My lunch today featured a combination of roasted red pepper and jalepeño cilantro hummus on a whole wheat sandwich thin with portobello mushrooms.

Lunch Time

Hummus & Mushroom Sandwich + Roasted Asparagus

On the side I enjoyed roasted asparagus, sugar-free strawberry Jello and a handful of Planters honey roasted peanuts.

I ❤ Peanuts!

Lunch was gooooood.

Race Time Predictor

Have you run a 5k or other running race recently or timed yourself on your latest run?

Keep that time in your head, and click here to enter it into a “Race Time Predictor” to check out your predicted time for other races, including a half marathon, marathon and 100 mile race! 😀

Pretty neat, huh?

Do you think the Race Time Predictor is accurate?

I think it’s a pretty decent tool and it seemed to be pretty accurate in predicting my times for various race distances.

For me, my pace is pretty similar whether I run a 5k or 10k race… I don’t run for time and literally tell myself to “slow down and enjoy the experience” when I run in a race. Still, I think the race predictor is pretty neat. Based on my last 5 mile race time, I should finish Saturday’s 10k race in 54:22. We’ll see if it’s accurate!

  1. i loveeeeee honey roasted nuts! so delicious. plain hummus is delicious but definitely nowhere near as tasty as garlic or red pepper or veggie variations 🙂

  2. Bahahah I just tweeted about this. I have always HATED hummus. Never knew what the hype is. But, I found some white bean hummus as TJ’s this wknd and am loving it!

  3. I think the race predictor is pretty conservative…I’ve definitely run faster based on my marathon time! I often look to McMillian’s calculator when I want to figure out speed paces and such. Some people say it’s a bit optimistic, however.

  4. I love hummus. I usually stick to the classic flavor, roasted garlic, or roasted red pepper. Soooo good.

  5. Wow, based on a 5k time, it predicts about a 4 hour marathon! That would be nuts! I did have a really good run yesterday at the right pace for that though ;). We’ll see.

  6. I’m not on the hummus bandwagon yet! Im sure Id like anything jalapeno flavored though!

And yummy asparagus. Your pee will be stinkin up the bathroom soon! haha!

I know, I never realized only some peoples pee smelled after asparagus–I thought everyones did!

Very cool website! Ill pay attention to my next 5k time!

  7. Hi! I am new to your blog, but I adore it and read it daily

Anyways- I was wondering since you seem to eat the sandwich thins quite often, if you have ever tried pepperidge farm deli flats? I have to go grocery shopping soon and wanted to pick up one of them and was wondering what your take on the two choices was? Thanks!

    • thanks for your sweet words! 🙂

i have tried the deli flats. i think they’re pretty good (though i prefer arnold sandwich thins b/c they taste “doughier”). i’ve tried both the 7-grain & whole wheat pepperidge farm deli flats & liked them both!

      • So welcome! I seriously enjoy your blog, and not just “sucking up” haha

Anyways, thanks that totally helps because I do love my bread doughy, and the 100 calories and good fiber and protein content is great so I wasn’t sure which one was tastier 🙂

  8. Not sure how accurate that would be, as there are so many different variables that go into race times, but it’s still a fun tool to play with! Thanks for sharing!

  9. How cool…I like that!! I can’t wait to hear about your race this weekend!!

And I totally agree wth you on hummus…I don’t like it plan either!

  10. That race predictor is very cool! I’ll have to remember that before my next race! Good luck at your 10K this weekend!! 🙂 54 minutes is fast!!

  11. that is interesting that there is a time predictor- thatd be an awesome time- good luck hun!! great lunch too 🙂
