Ready to Run

I walked half way to the gym this morning before I turned to Ryan and told him I was heading back home to leash Sadie up for a run outside instead of a cardio workout at the gym.

I initially planned to have a nice, easy elliptical session today because I didn’t want to run two days before my 10k race on Saturday, but the wonderful temperatures outside were calling to me! I decided to run at a nice, easy pace. Sadie was beyond excited when I returned home not even a minute after leaving.

Ready to Run!

To quote the Dixie Chicks, Sadie was “Ready to Run!” We ran five miles at an easy pace, stopping several times for potty and smell breaks (for Sadie, not for me πŸ˜‰ ).

We ran a couple loops around a lake by my apartment and every time we passed this one white dog, she would lay down waiting for us to run by. When we were done with our run and were walking a cool-down lap around the lake, I talked to the dog’s owner who said her dog always lays down anytime another dog passes by. It was so adorable… and the complete opposite of Sadie who immediately wants to be best friends with every dog (and person) she meets.

When we arrived home, Sadie got a treat for a run well done. πŸ™‚

Post-Run Snack

Of course I still made her work for it. πŸ˜‰

(Do you like Sadie’s Greek yogurt streak above her nose? She got to lick the cup from my breakfast. πŸ™‚ )

Breakfast

Breakfast was faaaaantastic.

I combined thawed frozen strawberries, barley and Chobani Greek yogurt with a bit of sweetener forΒ  a yummy breakfast bowl.

I stirred it up and enjoyed it along with a hot cup of Bigelow eggnog’n tea (which isn’t too amazing, by the way).

Thursday's Breakfast

Oh my gosh, I just realized it’s Thursday!!! Hooray for Friday tomorrow. I love weekends and it’ll be here before ya know it!

Cheerios! Oh, oh, oh!

Does anyone else remember that old Cheerios jingle? “The one and only Cheerios oh oh oh!” I’ve had it in my head ever since I bit into the first crunchy o in my breakfast this morning.

Tuesday's Breakfast

Yesterday when Ryan and I got home from the grocery store and were unpacking our green bags (love those things!), we randomly had a big box of Cheerios in one of the bags that neither of us remember placing on the conveyor belt. Free Cheerios – not a bad deal!

Naturally I had to incorporate the crunchy lil’ guys into my breakfast. I combined a cup of Cheerios with a cup of thick Greek yogurt and some thawed raspberries from my freezer.

Eggnogg'n Tea

I saw the tea at the grocery store yesterday and couldn’t resist picking it up! The tea smelled heavenly. It was good, but I think it would have tasted even better with milk, a little sweetener and some whipped cream. πŸ˜‰
