No Cavities!

Woop, woop! No cavities for this girl.

Happy Tooth!

Though I do not enjoy the teeth-cleaning process, I love the feeling of super-slick teeth after a dentist appointment. So fresh and so clean, clean.

On the Road Again

After my dentist appointment, I hit the road to head back to Orlando to make it to work at a decent hour.

Fortunately traffic was virtually non-existent (Yay!) and I made it to the office in around 90 minutes, and that time includes a pit stop at Starbucks for a light mocha Frappuccino.

My lunch today came right out of my emergency food drawer.

I keep my bottom desk drawer stocked with foods I can reach for in a pinch. It’s saved me several times when we’ve been completely out of food at home.

Today, I reached for a can of Progresso light chicken vegetable rotini.

(My pictures turned out icky, so please enjoy the professional photo above. 😉 )

I also enjoyed a coffee bean dark chocolate Attune bar and pistachio Greek yogurt pudding for dessert.

Ugachaka, Ugachaka

I can’t stop this feelin’, Deep insiiiide of me
Girl, you just don’t realize, What you do to me
When you hold me, In your arms so tight
You let me know, Everything’s all right

I-I-I, I’m hooked on a feelin’
I’m high on believin’, That you’re in love with meeee!

I heard this song on the radio on the way to work this morning and can’t get it out of my head! I’m not complaining though because I loooove it!

What song can you never get out of your head?

You know that terrible song by Adam Lambert, “Whataya Want From Me?” Gahhh, that’s the worst one for me because I don’t like it and yet I can’t stop singing it once I hear it!

I “ugachaka-ed” my way through lunch today!

My mid-day meal was a roasted red pepper hummus and artichoke sandwich with a side of roasted veggies with garlic salt.

Thursday's Lunch

While my meal was yummy, it was my dessert that stole the show.

I give myself a pat on zee back for this one.

I dipped a coffee bean dark chocolate Attune bar into a hot mug of General Foods International French Vanilla Café.

When I Dip, You Dip, We Dip

The chocolate melted a little bit and definitely satisfied my sweet tooth. I love day desserts. 😀

Attune Bar Giveaway

Awesome giveaway in a minute…First, dinner! 🙂

When I’ve made tacos in the crock pot in the past, I’ve made them using ground chicken.

I changed things up a bit tonight because I snagged a pack of ground turkey from my parents’ house yesterday. Turkey tacos!!!

Turkey Taco Meat

I placed the ground turkey in the crock pot with a packet of reduced-sodium taco seasoning and 2/3 cup of water and let it cook on low all day.

When we got home, Ryan forked through the meat (which forms a big turkey-taco patty) while I got out the tortillas, salsa and lettuce.

I enjoyed two soft shell tacos and a plate full of taco salad.

First Round

Attune Bar Giveaway

I am one lucky lil’ blogger! The wonderful (newly engaged!!!) Annelies with Attune Foods sent me four Attune chocolate probiotic chocolate wellness bars to sample before offering an awesome giveaway on this blog!

Attune Chocolate Bar

I tried four different flavors:

  • Chocolate crisp
  • Dark chocolate
  • Mint chocolate
  • Coffee bean dark chocolate

Attune Chocolate Probiotic Wellness Bars

The bars come in these flavors as well:

  • Raspberry dark chocolate
  • Almond milk chocolate
  • Blueberry vanilla

My favorite flavors were the mint chocolate and the dark chocolate bars. They were creamy and tasted so indulgent. (I promise they didn’t taste like “health food.”) Ryan tried the mint chocolate bar as well and gave it two thumbs up.

Here are some fun facts about these bars:

  • They have five times the live active cultures as yogurt
  • They have only 3 – 8 grams of sugar per bar
  • They have only 80 – 90 calories per bar
  • They have 3 grams of fiber per bar

Attune Foods also claims that those who eat these bars will feel a difference in their health after eating one bar a day for 14 days. They’ll even send you a refund if you don’t! (Click here for more information.)

Now you can see for yourself…

One reader will win a 14-day supply of Attune chocolate probiotic bars!

You will receive one entry into this giveaway for doing each of the following (Yes, that means you can enter THREE times!):

I will randomly select a winner on Wednesday morning.

Good luck!!!

(Note: This giveaway is limited to U.S. residents only.)

Rainy Day Dinner

Is is just me or do rainy days make you want a warm dinner that makes your whole house smell fantastic?

With the chilly, rainy weather outside, Ryan and I decided to make a hot, aromatic dinner of Italian sausage with peppers and onions.

Sausage, Peppers and Onions

Our friends Pete and Merri made this dish at their Super Bowl party this year and Ryan and I loved it.

Thankfully Pete shared his recipe with me today and I was pleased to see that it was super easy. You know I love simple recipes!

All you have to do is cut Italian sausages with scissors (do not use a knife or the meat will come out of the casings) and put the meat into a 2-inch baking dish (sprayed with cooking spray) with sliced onions and peppers. You can then top it all with olive oil, salt and pepper or omit all the spices since the Italian sausage is very flavorful on its own. Easy, right?

We let the sausage and peppers bake at 375 degrees for about 45 minutes, stirring the mixture every once in a while.

Our apartment smelled like heaven!

I enjoyed my sausage and veggie mix on a big piece of Joseph’s lavash bread.

For dessert I enjoyed a chocolate mint Attune bar. I received a package of these in the mail from the company today and was excited to try the bars.

It was so stinkin’ delicious! I gave Ryan a bite too and he agreed.

I’ll do a full review on the bars once I try the various flavors. 🙂

Off to keep warm by cuddlin’ on the couch watching Friends on DVD with Ryan. Good night!
