Anthropologie, I Want to Own You

Today’s errands took us to the Mall at Millenia, an upscale mall halfway between downtown Orlando and the Disney area.

For those of you who think Orlando is basically Disney World, think again! Orlando is huge and it can take you 45 minutes to drive from one end of Orlando to the other. Disney World is actually located in Kissimmee, which is about 30 minutes from downtown.

We paid a visit to the Mall at Millenia because I wanted to nab some blush (in “Peaches”) from M.A.C, after I tried my friend Leah’s and loved it.

While at the mall, Ryan and I stopped by Starbucks to pick up some beverages.

I enjoyed a vanilla latte while Ryan ordered a non-fat Tazo Chai Creme Frappuccino. He saved all of the whipped cream ‘til the end and let me do my thang. I LOVE whipped cream.

I could eat an entire can of heavy whipped cream in one sitting. No problem.

After enjoying our Starbucks treats we headed to Anthropologie.

I think my heart stopped.

Ryan and I browsed around for a bit and I declared that I wanted to outfit our bedroom and bathroom in Anthropologie linens, towels, shower curtains, pillows and more.  After asking the woman at the registry if we could register at the store for our wedding she sad, sadly, no. But! But we can create a “wish list” and give our wedding guests access to it.

Somethin’ to think about since basically the entire store is out of our budget.

While there, I couldn’t resist playin’ a little dress up with their adorable aprons.

Look at me! I’m Susie Julie Homemaker!

How cute is that initial mug?

Ryan even struck an “artsy” pose with his respective mug.

And to save his dignity, here he is sportin’ a manly-man smile…

anthropologie 002

…while still holding the mug. Maybe not so manly-man, after all? 😉

Once we were done at the mall, we drove back toward our apartment and swung by Lombardi’s Seafood, Inc. to pick up some fresh fish for dinner.

Lombardi’s is a hole-in-the-wall seafood marketplace that provides seafood to area restaurants, but also sells fish to the public to enjoy.

Can you spot Ryan standing in front of our car?

(Okay, how many of you just thought to yourself “Oh my goodness. Julie drives a minivan!?” Gotcha! 😉 )

At Lombardi’s we bought some grouper and snapper and decided to cook up the grouper for dinner this evening.

Ryan was the grill master and cooked the fish, along with some zucchini, in a foil packet after seasoning it with lemon juice, salt and pepper.

anthropologie 013

Yes, he grills topless. It was 95 degrees outside and I like it. 😉

Sadie didn’t seem to mind the heat one bit and hunted lizards in our backyard as dinner cooked on the grill.

After about 12 minutes, our foil-packet fish was ready.

Ryan did a great job. The fish was moist and flavorful. Grouper is one of my favorite kinds of fish, so I gobbled this dinner down in no time flat!

Now it’s time for dessert.

Please excuse me as Ryan and I head off to Dairy Queen for Blizzards!

Enjoy your night! 😀

So Here’s the Thing…

So here’s the thing: I don’t really like watching football.

I do, however, enjoy everything that comes along with football season. I love parties, tailgating, lazy Sundays and dressing up to support your team. I also really like attending football games because the energy and excitement is contagious and I’m a huge fan of classic stadium food like hot dogs, kettle corn, nachos and oversized draft beer.

When I got home from laying out by the pool this afternoon, I found Ryan and Sadie on the couch taking in the first University of Florida football game of the season.

Ryan got his MBA at UF and my sister is currently a senior at the university (and is actually at the game today along with my mom and dad).

I really love having football games on in the background at home. For some reason the sounds of a college or NFL game remind me of home and make me feel relaxed. Strange, I know.

While Ryan took in the game, I made us a simple lunch.

On the menu today:

  • Turkey sandwich with honey mustard and baby greens
  • Sliced apple
  • String cheese

It was a lunch fit for a 5th grader… or a 26-year-old guy and 25-year-old girl. 😉

Is honey mustard a southern thing? I never heard of it until I moved to Florida and now I absolutely adore it. Honey mustard can seriously transform a sandwich. So tasty!

Now I’m off to shower up before we pile into my car to run some errands and pick up somethin’ special for dinner.

Hope you’re enjoying this holiday weekend so far. 😀

Question of the Afternoon

Are you a football fan?

Starting Saturday the Sweaty Way

Today started out on a super-sweaty note with a great cardio workout at the gym.

workout 004

I took today’s workout up to a secluded loft at our gym that personal trainers typically use to train their clients and take them through plyometric and boot camp-style workouts.

Today the loft was deserted so I took advantage of the private space and completed two rounds of Jessica’s At Home Cardio Blast workout.

I jotted down Jessica’s workout back in April and have kept it in my little gym bag ever since so I always have it on hand just in case I feel inspired to put myself through a heart-pumpin’ workout.

The elliptical also got some attention during my morning workout, as I warmed up with 15 minutes on the elliptical and finished my workout with 10 minutes on machine.

Post workout, Ryan and I took Sadie on a 2 mile walk around the lake near our apartment.

Now it’s time for a BIG breakfast! I ate a quesadilla (string cheese microwaved on a whole wheat tortilla) before the gym, but my tummy wants mo’ food!

After breakfast, I have plans to lay by the pool with my friend Merri before heading back to our apartment to tackle wedding invitations and run some errands with Ryan.

See ya in a bit!
