Cinnamon Toast Chocolate Chip Yogurt Bowl

Good morning!

My breakfast today was a cinnamon toast pretzel chocolate chip yogurt bowl, and booooy was it tasty!

My most recent order from Netrition.com arrived last night and I couldn’t wait to try the bag of Kay’s Naturals Better Balance cinnamon toast pretzel sticks.

Cinnamon Toast Pretzels

I ate about half the bag before stirring the remaining sticks into my Chobani Greek yogurt and topping the mix with chocolate chips.

Sweet, Salty, Creamy

I had a hot mug of sugar cookie tea on the side.

Friday's Breakfast

It’s probably a good thing that I got an individual portion of those pretzel sticks because I could see myself downing an entire bag very easily.

It’s almost like anything out of a big bag or box makes me want to keep eating and eating. I think that’s why I cannot be trusted around a half-gallon of ice cream or a box of Cheez-its. The remaining portions taunt me until they’re gone.

Gym Gripes

Since Ryan has the day off work and wasn’t getting up at 5:30 a.m. with me this morning, I opted to skip my typical 5:45 a.m. Friday BodyPump class and save strength training for tomorrow.

Instead, I slept in until 6:30 a.m. and went to the gym for a cardio-only workout consisting of:

  • 15 min. adaptive motion trainer
  • 10 min. running stairs in the gym’s stairwell
  • 10 min. running
  • 15 min. elliptical

I got so irritated during my 10 minute run because I ran on a treadmill controlled by a touch screens. If I so much as grazed the screen, the whole workout changed and it would slow down my pace dramatically and hurt my running rhythm. Bleh.

I intended to keep running, but was so fed up when the treadmill reset my entire workout after 10 minutes that I opted to finish my workout on the elliptical. Oooh the headaches of working out.

What bothers you at the gym?

At the risk of sounding like a total brat, I am the most bothered when someone takes “my spot” in BodyPump. It’s my spot, and they should know that. 😉

  1. The pretzel sticks are GLUTEN FREE!!?! I must go on to Netrition and see what other GF goodies they have-woohoo!

  2. I hate when people are using a machine and weights, but just sitting there talking! Waste of time, peeps!

  3. That is a very common Body Pump gripe. lol. People get very touchy about “their spot”. hehe

  4. Mine is when people don’t wipe down the machines or when they leave magazines they’ve grabbed from the rack on the machines. People, this is not your house! Clean up after yourself.
Of course, I used to work in a gym, so I get extra cranky about cleaning up after others!

  5. I can’t stand when people try talk to me whilst I’m halfway though me reps. Do I look like I want to have a big chat whilst half way down the squat? Apparently I have a friendly face… I seriously need to work on my anger management though, I’m always tempted to throw a barbell / dumbbell at them (all that testosterone, huh?)

  6. I can not stand women who come to the gym in full makeup and barely do anything to work up a sweat. They constantly fix their hair and makeup. Grr! You are there to workout not “look pretty”

  7. melissa, i’m with you on the girls that come in with full makeup and set the elliptical for resistance 1 no incline..and go on to gab for HOURS while barely doing anything!

and what’s sadder is that i’m actually doing sh!t in the gymm…and the guys are all looking at THEM. hah.

i hate on people that don’t rerack their weights- hey, you can squat XX amount of weight.put it back! or the people that hog 2 machines because “they’re using both of them at once”.

  8. I hate hate hate when someone takes equipment or a machine I am using in my superset. I can’t tell you how many times at my new gym I will put my towel on a machine or bench to come back and see that someone has TOSSED IT ON THE FLOOR so they could use it. And I was just on it and gone for less than a minute. Rude! Okay my mini rant is over. Haha. Have a great weekend.

  9. Mmmm…I’ve seen those cinammon sticks around the blog world– they look delicious! I’ll have to get my paws on some 🙂

I hate it when people talk LOUDLY on their cell phones about inappropriate, PERSONAL things, as they walk on the treadmill. Like the entire gym wants to hear about your yeast infection? (true story)

  10. I am totally with you…I get so irritated when I go to the gym and someone ie on “my treadmill”…haha! Brats unite! 🙂

  11. haha so true! im like that too!! i get so mad when people are on ellipticals and have terrible technique..its like they are about to pull a muscle and move their ENTIRE body.. im like, chill out, you wont get a better workout doing that!!

AHH i almost had those pretzel sticks today!! so they were good? im excited now!

  12. ah that is so annoying about the touch screen! i’ve never see that haha. i have a favorite treadmill too 🙂 those kay preztel sticks look delicious

  13. It bothers me when I see people NOT working to their potential. A lot of people just do super light weights without any sweat. I’m thinking, why even bother?

Oh and it bothers me when people do exercises with poor form. It doesn’t bother me as much as it just breaks my heart. I hold back from saying anything for the sake of not seeming like a “know it all” but if its reeeallly bad I think they are going to hurt themselves, I have to speak up.

Last one, I promise: people who hold on to dear life when they are on the stairmaster. Just lower the speed! I have also seen people straight up RUNNING on the treadmill while holding the bars. Sooo bad for your back 😦
