Family Size Ravioli… For Two

Just one pack of ravioli with two servings unfortunately does not fly in this household of two.

When Ryan and I enjoyed ravioli for dinner the past two weeks we’ve purchased two packages so my manly man could get his fill of the good stuff.

Yesterday at the grocery store we stumbled upon a family size pasta pouch with one pound of pasta.

Spinach Ricotta Pasta

I don’t know about you, but I just love knowing how much weight I will gain by eating my dinner. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Since we’ve loved all of the other Monterey Pasta Company ravioli varieties, Ryan and I had high hopes for the family size spinach ricotta pasta poofs.

Boilin' Ravioli

I used my “fill up on veggies, not pasta” stragegy to the fullest tonight by incorporating lots of spinach, portobello mushrooms, onion and broccoli into my pasta bowl.

Veggies in my pasta = good. I think it makes me appreciate bites with ravioli even more.

Ryan and I enjoyed our ravioli in his and hers bowls… blue for the boy and pink for me.

Of course we had to add pasta sauce to our mix before diggin’ in.

Tasty fun!

Holiday Happenings

As I was driving home from work today I saw a Christmas tree in the window ofย a nearby business. The lights were on and dazzlin’ and it got me super excited for the holiday season.

Ryan already gave me the okay to decorate for Christmas this weekend since we’ll be gone for Thanksgiving and I want to come back to a festive Christmasy apartment! Hooray for the holidays!!!

Also, my girlfriends and I selected our Secret Santas today. Holiday cheer is in the air.

A Poopy Post

Ever wonder where pumpkin pie comes from?

The Creation of Pumpkin Pie

My aunt sent that picture to me in an email yesterday and I just had to share! Who knew pumpkin turds were so tasty?

This reminds me of other poop-related holiday humor. Have you ever been the recipient of a bag of snowman poop?

Or reindeer poop?

Or perhaps pumpkin poop?

Who knew potty humor could enhance the holiday spirit?

Lunch

The bagel sandwich I ate for lunch today is one of my favorite ways to enjoy Thanksgiving leftovers.

You only need four ingredients, two of which are Thanksgiving staples:

  • Turkey
  • Cranberry Sauce/ Relish
  • Cream Cheese
  • Bread

I spread the cream cheese on top of my sweet wheat Alternative Bagel before adding several spoonfuls of the cranberry relish I made last week on top of the creamy spread.

I then placed several slices of Boar’s Head lower sodium turkey on the bagel sandwich and dug in!

With the Turkey!

Yummy

My Lunch

This sandwich helped me further realize just how much I can’t wait for Thanksgiving to come! I’ve been anxiously awaiting this holiday for a while and now my taste buds are just as excited.

What’s your favorite way to enjoy Thanksgiving leftovers?

I’m Not Delusional

Good news! Sick boy soup worked! Ryan is feeling much better today. I think the only one sad about this is Sadie who will miss her sicky playmate.

Workout and Oatty Breakfast

Today my cardio Tuesday was once again a cardio hodgepodge consisting of:

  • 15 min. stair master
  • 10 min. run
  • 15 min. incline walking
  • 10 min. elliptical

A cardio hodgepodge is the perfect workout on mornings where I’m feeling antsy and don’t want to go for a long run or take a spinning class. Jumping from machine to machine keeps it interesting (and keeps me sweaty, too!).

After my workout and Sadie’s morning walk, my tummy was grumblin’ and wanted something warm and filling.

I mixed a quarter of a cup of oats with a quarter of a cup of Flax Z Snax butter pecan hot cereal and stirred in a scoop of All the Whey cake batter protein powder for an added protein punch.

It was hot, creamy and delicious!
