The Old Standby

When I first entered the working world, my lunches severely lacked variety. I would eat turkey sandwiches or wraps or a pizza Lean Pocket almost daily. I now get sick of the same foods over and over again.

This morning, however, I was craving my old standby: a turkey sandwich. I made my sammie on a whole wheat Arnold sandwich thin with oven-roasted ultra-thin turkey breast.

I topped it with dijon mustard, mushrooms, spinach and sliced plum tomato.

I forgot just how darn delicious a simple turkey sandwich can be! This throwback meal hit the spot.

Question: What’s your go-to lunch?

9 Responses

  1. My go to lunch – some form of soup, protein, fruit and something sweet. 🙂

  2. I pack my lunch everyday.. its usually a big ol baggie of veggies or a salad, some nuts and crackers, a piece of fruit and a bar of some sort for morning/afternoon snacking!! Sometimes I post my lunches but they are pretty boring.. lol 🙂

  3. I take my lunch to work every day, too. My go-to lunch is a big salad with a bunch of random veggies and ingredients from the fridge! A lot of times I’ll top the salad with leftover veggies from last night’s dinner, rice, or whatever else I can find..yum 🙂

  4. Defnitely turkey burgers. Easy for me and yum!

  5. I always have some kind of wrap for lunch – tuna, veggie burger, deli meat, hummus! Love ’em!! 🙂

  6. Sometimes the simplest things are the best! Your sandwich looks great! My lunch is usually a wrap.

  7. haha that is one of my standby meals too 🙂 mustard just makes everything taste better

  8. yummmmy sammie, julie! I will be having that for lunch tomorrow! I love my wraps, sammie and a salad on the side 🙂
