Weekend Recap!

This weekend was full of foodie and fitness fun! On Saturday I ran in a 5-mile race

… and actually placed first in my age group! Please do not take this to mean I am a super-fast runner. The race was small and I ran the five miles in approximately 43 minutes, but I did get a plaque which made me feel warm and happy.

That morning my boyfriend’s family came in town and we went to lunch at California Pizza Kitchen where I enjoyed a couple slices of tomato basil pizza.

For dinner our lil’ group hit up Houston’s (an amaaaazing restaurant in Orlando). I ordered the trout which was mouth-watering, but the real highlight was the hot fudge sundae we shared for dessert. That lil’ treat is honestly the best dessert I’ve ever had at a restaurant – EVER! It doesn’t hurt that ice cream is basically my favorite food.

On Sunday I used some of the leftover trout in a yummy trout wrap made with feta cheese, tomato, cucumber, light Miracle Whip, dijon mustard and dill (served with a side of steamed broccoli). Very tasty. I love leftovers!

Ryan (my boyfriend and also my taste-tester for all my random recipes) and I also went on a hot date to McDonald’s for some soft-serve vanilla ice cream last night (I told you I like ice cream).

We were good puppy-parents and shared with Sadie, our lil’ vizsla puppy. She’s actually 1 1/2 years old, but will be a puppy forever in my eyes.

Share the Foodie Love!

This blog launched as a way to combine my love for writing and my love for food and fitness. Though I’ve always loved baking (mainly because I love licking the batter of any baked good!), after graduating college and living on my own for the first time I began to really enjoy cooking. With an interest in nutrition and health, I am always searching for yummy ways to make decadent meals using fresh, healthy ingredients.
